Clearance of Wildlife Habitat Investigated by Kent Police

The clearance of part of an area of outstanding natural beauty by contractors working for the National Grid is being investigated by Kent Police.

...Consultant ecologist Lee Brady said he was "very concerned" that the work appeared to have been done "without due regard to the presence of protected species".

Very concerned indeed.

A simple search of the KRAG Recording database either directly or through KMBRC would have revealed that Bredhurst supports an important population of reptiles.

If heavy machines are inappropriately used to clear areas that support reptiles, the results are sadly very predictable.
